Information Technology
Information Technology is increasingly becoming the foundation for streamlining operations and finances in all core areas of a hospital. Our Information Technology (IT) team specializes in improving the overall performance of technology for all customers involved with a hospital. We work with the hospital's leadership to identify and implement short-term and long-range improvement opportunities. Our solutions are aligned with the following areas:
- IT Performance Improvement
- IT Value Improvement
We assess the strengths and weaknesses of essential automated patient care systems, automated management support systems, and the impact current systems (or lack thereof) have on patient care and safety, operations and financial management practices. Furthermore, we assess the degree to which technology can be cost-effectively deployed.
IT Performance Improvement
The goal of our IT Performance Improvement service is to dramatically improve the service delivery of the IT organization through innovative redesign and the application of technology to IT processes and operations. Examples of advisory services that we have performed include:
- Supporting new and innovative technology services such as digital health, regional health networks, electronic medical records, and health repositories from planning to implementation.
- Moving health organizations toward an all "digital" healthcare environment, using innovative procurement approaches.
Improving overall IT service performance through organizational improvement that is integrated with Wellspring Partners' labor and non-labor improvement practices, using our own proprietary IT Performance Metrics Database and reporting tools.
IT Value Improvement
The goal of our IT Value Improvement service is to mitigate the risks associated with significant capital investments in information technology, and to provide for a sustainable return for that investment. Examples include:
- Protecting and leveraging current and future IT investments using our own proprietary IT value metrics, and value improvement methods and tools.
- Increasing the effectiveness of IT performance and spending.
- Turning to innovative IT delivery and management strategies.
- Mitigating risks through the implementation of strong project management disciplines, methods and tools, and improving overall IT governance and oversight.
